WHAT IS A VIRUS?
A Computer Virus is self replicating software that spreads by inserting copies of itself into other software. In a way, a computer virus is similar to human virus in that it spreads through infection and relies on a host. Some viruses can be intentionally destructive (for example, by destroying data) whereas other are created simply to annoy a computer user.
HOW DO I GET A VIRUS?
* From infected programs downloaded from the internet.
*Through infected email messages or email attachments.
*From an infected floppy disk or any other removable media.
*By opening a file that is infected with a virus.
* From hostile Java applets and Active X controls, you unknowingly download.
HOW DO I REMOVE A VIRUS?
You will need a anti-virus product such as NOD 32 AntiVirus or AVG. Once you have your antivirus software, always ensure that your virus database is up to date before starting. Once updated, select 'Scan Hard-drive and let the scan complete. If anyviruses have found, your software should provide instructions for removal.
